Beautiful antique French miniature portrait oil painting from France. The painting is in the original inlaid frame with convex or bombé glass with brass trim. I can see no signs of damage. Around the oval glass covering the portrait is an additional brass/gilt frame. The back is covered in pale silk held in place with small nails, which have rusted over time. There is a small brass on the back as well. The overall dimensions are 4.25" x 4" x .45". The inner portrait is 1.5" x 2". The Painting is in excellent condition.
