This Revillon Christopher medal is a 1920s to 1940s-vintage protective amulet, often designed for travelers, drivers, and adventurers. Although we purchased it in France, it could also be Italian. These detailed, artistic depictions of Saint Christopher carrying the child Jesus across water are sometimes styled as large plates or medallions for vehicles. Saint Christopher is holding a staff, which is a classic symbol of his role as the patron saint of travelers. It served as a traditional, religious, or sentimental token for protection on the road or for personal safety and features mounting holes on the sides for attachment to a dashboard or visor. This beautiful medal is made of copper and measures approximately 2" in diameter.
