Beautiful souvenir trinket box found in Provence, France. Dated to the 1940s to 1950s, this vintage box features intricate floral carvings inspired by traditional Kashmiri craftsmanship. Typically crafted from sustainable woods such as walnut or mango, pieces like this were imported throughout Europe as souvenirs during the colonial and post-colonial periods. These boxes are frequently found at French flea markets (vide-greniers) or antique shops. They were historically used as decorative table coffrets, glove boxes, or tobacco vaults.
