Wonderful antique tin Christmas tree clip on candle holders that came to me by way of France. However, after doing a little research I believe these are originally from Germany. All 14 of this group of antique clip on candle holders have the same design pattern which is a pinecone. Some are painted and some might be painted but the color isn't visible under wax and patina. If you look closely you can see the wicks of some of the candles that have long since burned away.
My research clearly tells me these are from Germany circa 1800's and I have listed that as the country of origin even though they were in our freight shipment from France. There are sold as a set of 14 pieces.
