Rare and charming pair of miniature stanhope binoculars . Stanhope who invented away of magnifying down to a small focus.
These particular minature binoculars were made orignially for the tourist industry with scenes from all great cities and tourist destinations. These ones have a lovely writing on the underside but I am unable to read it as the writing is a little faded on some of the letters. I believe it reads "Notre Dame de Lumieres". The left view has a holy picture and under it it reads N.D. de Lumieres. The right side is not working.
A marvelous gift for anyone and could be worn as intended or just as a wonderful collectible.
