Reproduction 1700's French wax seals made of SOLID PEWTER. I had two 1700's Royal French wax seals which we reproduced and made out of pewter. These are all hand made here in MO. These are not mass produced. The larger of the two has a crown with three Fleur de Lis below it with a wreath around the edge. The smaller seal has three Fleur de Lis with a ring around the edge. The Large seal measures approximately 2.25" in diameter and the small approximately 1.25".

FUN FACT - The French monarchy possibly adopted the Fleur-de-lis for its royal coat of arms as a symbol of purity to commemorate the conversion of Clovis I, and a reminder of the Fleur-de-lis ampulla that held the oil used to anoint the king. So, the fleur-de-lis stood as a symbol of the king's divinely approved right to rule.

PLEASE NOTE THAT YOU ARE PURCHASING A SOLID PEWTER REPRODUCTION. NOT THE ORIGINAL PIECE.
