Beautiful late 1700s antique French devotional engraving. The bottom of the engraving reads S. Rosade S. Maria, a poetic title of Mary, invoking her prayers in the litany of Loreto. The bottom right side of the engraving is signed Merien. The engraving measures 5.5" x 3.75" and has been placed on a red mat within a gold frame measuring 9.75" x 8.25". The frame is not old, but it is clearly a lovely way to protect such a beautiful antique engraving. The back is perfect, with a brass triangle hanger on the top—another excellent antique from France.
