This is a beautiful, rare 18th-century relic representing S. BAMBINO DI ARACELI. This piece was part of a collection of 13 pieces. It is a stunning piece—a superb devotional shrine of S. BAMBINO DI ARACELI. S. Bambino di Aracoeli, the Holy Child of Ara Coeli, is a venerated image of the Christ Child. There is a wooden statue of this image of the image of the infant Jesus, housed in a church in Santa Maria in Aracoeli in Rome. The statue is believed to be miraculous and attracts pilgrims and tourists from all over the world, especially during the Christmas season and the Feast of the Epiphany. This relic measures 6.3" wide x 9.25" high and .2" deep. Many different materials were used in making this piece, including gilded paper, metal, glass, an antique book, paper, and other materials.
