Very RARE and beautiful and antique French crown. This isn't your usual crown. It is actually a relic holder from a church. A stunning piece for sure. At one time, the deep cranberry velvet on the top was so plush. The inner silk lining the bottom remains in magnificent shape, likely because this piece was rarely opened to reveal the contents. The velvet top is what has been exposed to sunlight, time, and temperature. The crown is made of heavy brass, and the patina is perfect. I can see no rips, tears or damage to the exterior velvet or interior silk. It sits at 4.75" tall to the tip if the crown. The widest part of the crown measures 4.65" accross and the bottom that opens to measures 3.25" in diameter. Truly a lovely antique piece.
