Original 1800s French miniature traveling icon. Dark with age, this piece features a silver-toned statue of the Virgin Mary holding the infant Jesus. The figure is mounted on a cylindrical alabaster column with brass or bronze accents. This is not a reproduction. Standing at 2.5" tall and with a base measuring 1" x 1", this is a wonderful piece of history. Soldiers used to carry these types of shrines in their pockets during the Great War.
