Beautiful Antique French paper boxes. The smaller boxes were made by one woman who used to work in a medical pill & powder packaging factory in France. The small yellow paper boxes and the slightly larger blue-edged boxes were what she had left from her time manufacturing. She made all of these boxes herself. Pharmacies would order these to hold small prescriptions that their customers would pick up. That was back in the day when plastics weren't around and we didn't need tamper-proof protective seals and covers. I am reminded of the movie "It's a Wonderful Life" where George is in the back room being handed a prescription. I sometimes look at this scene pausing and forwarding in low motion to see the shelves. So much was distributed in loose powders which is what I think these would more likely be used for back in "the day". The larger box isn't from a pharmacy. It is from a watchmaker's shop to hold pieces and parts for repair work. All of these boxes came from Provence France. These are not reproductions. These are all VERY old.
The yellow boxes are .80" in diameter and .60" tall.
The blue-edged boxes are 1.2" in diameter and .50" tall.
The Watch box is 14.75" x 3" x 1.75".
