These antique Ex-Voto hearts are 19th and 20th century embossed and chiseled metal pieces. I believe these are silvered. The ex-votos were hung in churches and symbolized wishes. Two steps could be taken: either the wish was not fulfilled and the ex-voto marked the request, or the wish was fulfilled and the ex-voto was hung as a token of thanks. These three pieces are from Italy by way of France.
These are NOT reproductions. These are all antiques with wear commensurate with age.
A few definitions -
When I say a piece is silver 925 it means an alloy made up of 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% other metals, usually copper or zinc. Sterling silver pieces are stamped with 925 to mark their authenticity but not all are stamped due to the age of some items.
When I say a piece is silvered it means the item is coated or plated with silver. It could also be coated with a silverlike substance such as quicksilver.
