Fabulous antique embossed French bonbon box from the mid 1800s. Repousse card lid with a classical vignette. The top of this box is emboassed and there are brass bands on lid and base. There are also embossed gold (gilded?) decorative banding in the middle where the top and rests loosely on the base.. This is made from sturdy cardboard and is intact. It measures 3" in diameter and is 1" tall. I can understand why these boxes are collectibles. They are just beautiful and can hold a plethera of pretty things.
