This is a beautiful antique French miniature botanical oil painting. However, it might be Italian by way of France. The painting is in the original gilt frame, complete with convex glass, and shows no damage. The florals appear to have some texture as if raised, and the piece is signed. The old marbled paper is on the back, so I could not open it and examine the painting. The original hanger is at the top of the back. The overall dimensions are 4.25" wide x 5" high x .75" deep. The oil painting is approximately 3.2" x 2.2". The Painting is in excellent condition. This is circa the late1800s. It is a gorgeous miniature oil painting.
These petite gilt-framed oil paintings are highly sought after and becoming very difficult to find.
