Beautiful mid-1800s framed religious icon. This is the Virgin Mary under the original glass. While this represents the Virgin Mary, it is an original Souvenir De Notre Dame De Lourdes. In the center is Mary surrounded by fields of florals and trees with Lordes in the background and foreground. The color on this piece has slightly faded, but the glass is intact. You can actually see the bubbles and striations in the glass, which is wonderful. The gilt frame has been careworn and chipped over time, and the back is magnificent with the original Lourdes information. A single nail is missing from the back, but it can easily be replaced. There is an original hook hanger at the top. How this piece has survived with the glass intact for over 150 years is beyond me. It is a little dusty and needs a soft brush to clean it. This framed piece measures 8.75" x 5" x .75". Another amazing antique from France.
