Beautiful late 1700s to early 1800s framed religious icon. This is Le Petite SE. John - The Little St. John under original glass. This is a STUNNING piece of St. John holding a lamb and carrying a cross. Colorful florals surround him. The color on this piece has not faded, and the glass is intact. You can actually see the bubbles and striations in the glass, which is an incredible sight. The wooden frame is careworn and has a few small chips. The back is all wood. There is a make-do hanger made of wire and upholstery tacks at the top. It is beyond me how this piece has survived with the glass intact for over 225 years. It is a little dusty and needs a good cleaning and a soft brush. The engraving is in great condition, with a couple of water spots on the left side; however, the color remains intact. This framed piece measures 9.25" x 11.50" x .75". Another amazing antique from France.
