Similar items have been used historically for marking wooden crates, footlockers, or potentially as branding irons for materials. The stamp is made of heavy metal and shows signs of age with a dark, oxidized patina. The stamp features a turned wooden handle and likely dates to the early 20th century. The stamp matrix measures 2.75" x 1.2," and it stands at 4". This piece is in excellent condition, and I can see no damage to the matrix.
