Wonderful French Papier Dominote Book. This one is French and it is a MAGNIFICENT and RARE book dated 1780. 'Domino' printed paper is decorated paper, the patterns having been printed using a woodblock with color applied using a paintbrush or stencil. In Italy and France, these sheets of paper decorated with geometric or floral patterns peaked in popularity during the second half of the XVIII th century. The patterns remain popular today and are considered extremely collectible items. This antique book is 243 years old. It measures approximately 4.5” x 7.25” with 390 pages. It is in FANTASTIC condition given it's age and these are getting harder and harder to find. This is an original from France. This is not a reproduction.
