Wonderful Italian Papier Dominote Book. This one is in Italian and it is wonderful as well as RARE collection as the title translates "a critical history of every century's philosophical opinions on the soul, cosmology, God and natural law. This one is dated 1776. The binding is a red and cream dominote pattern. 'Domino' printed paper is decorated paper, the patterns having been printed using a woodblock with color applied using a paintbrush or stencil. In Italy and France, these sheets of paper decorated with geometric or floral patterns peaked in popularity during the second half of the XVIII th century. The patterns remain popular today and are considered extremely collectible items. This antique book is 247 years old. It measures approximately 5.75” x 9” approximately 400 pages. It is in good condition given it's age and these are getting harder and harder to find. This is an original from Italy. This is not a reproduction.
