Beautiful French Imperial seal. The seal is metal-cased resin with bronze effects. Metal-cased resin is also known as cold-casting resin. It is a mixture of resin and metal powder that was used to create objects that look like solid metal or have a metallic finish. This seal was made to look like the much earlier original. This piece is from the early1900s and makes a beautiful seal. It is an early reproduction of an even earlier original Bronze seal. The seal has faces all the way around it and you can see from a couple of noses that it was used a lot as there are some worn spots on the nose tips. The seal measures approximately 1.37" in diameter and stands about 2.5" tall. A beautiful addition to any collection.
