French hand-painted silk picture photo frame from the 1800s. This is a charming, timeworn, hand-painted silk textile treasure from France. The silk is warm, cream moire silk that is still strong with no deterioration in the fibers. The edge is trimmed with green velvet that has taken on a warm, deep bronze gold with the passage of time. The top has a hand-painted rose and bud vignette with florals and leaves around the inner frame. The original easel stand is gone. The frame measures" x 7.24" with the inner frame that holds a picture measuring 2.25" x 3.5". The colors are timeworn as they would be after over 125 years.
If you adore timeworn textiles with a shabby chateau look and feel, you will love this piece.
