Beautiful antique French conscription frame. This is a memorial piece to remember a specific date and service. French conscrit ribbons, also known as concarde de conscrit, are decorative rosettes, ribbons, or badges worn by young men during their conscripton into military service. These ribbons were a part of celebrations and traditions surrounding the draft. This framed piece is from 1928. The number 10 at the top might signify years of service in 1928. The frame measures 7.75" x 9.75" and is .75" deep. The back is covered with paper, and there is an eyehook with a string hanger at the top. This piece is in fantastic condition.
