The chromos by EF (Ernst Freihoff) are based on chromos images from the beginning of the century to the 1960s. The production at the time came from various companies, with the main one being based in Berlin. These images were used at the time to decorate pastries, make postcards, decorate screens, chairs, and boxes. There were multiple layers of varnish to create the illusion of hand-painted paint. Today, these old images are produced exclusively in Germany, and a large part of the production process remains manual.
