Beautiful antique 1800s French handmade religious icon. This is a hand-stitched piece made of blue silk, gold thread trim, Dresden pieces, paper, and ribbon. This lovely relic is adorned with Joseph and Child in the center, framed in embossed paper. The outer edge of the icon has gold thread trim. There are more gilt-embossed paper pieces adorning the icon; however, some are missing. The back is blue, and you can see the thread used to stitch all around the edges. At the top, there is a small loop with a yellow/gold ribbon so the icon can hang. This piece measures 5.75" x 3" x .20"—truly a lovely handmade antique piece.
