Beautiful antique French religious icon. Darling painted wooden frame with colorful raised accents. The outer frame is green and the inner frame is gold. There are bright, raised decorative accents and patterns around the frame. The inner frame features the Madonna and child. The back of the frame is the original wood, a hanger, and a label that reads "articles pour cadeaux crollen sœurs rue Neuve 29 Hasselt encadrements glaces". Translated, this refers to the name of the gift shop where the framed icon was sold initially. It reads "Gift Items, Crollen Sisters" with the shop address. It could have also been manufactured there. I have not cleaned this piece as it looks fantastic. This piece measures 9" x 7.5" x .6" and is in FABULOUS condition.
