This beautiful mid-century French brass-and-metal large clock face. It is generally in good condition for its age, and it clearly needs cleaning. This is an original piece with the Words Tempus Fuorte on the top disc and the word Melux on the inner face. The "Tempus Fugit" (Latin for "Time Flies") clock face, often found on grandfather clocks from the 1950s to the 1980s, is a common inscription rather than a specific brand. It measures 10.5" long and 8" wide. What makes this one so special is the raised brass motifs on top and along the sides. This is NOT a flat face. It is a beautifully sculpted piece of art with extra brass accents. Perfect for a clock restoration piece or just a beautifully decorative item. It certainly makes an impression and shows wonderful weight and quality.
