Beautiful 19th-century French religious icon. This antique piece of The Mother and Child has carved clouds in the background and the Basilica. This is a piece made of meerschaum. The glass and frame are long gone, but this is an excellent reliquary given the detail in the particular piece. The back is in excellent condition, and you can see how the meerschaum has aged over time. Overall, the icon is in great condition even without the glass and framework. The piece measures 3" long, 2.5" wide and 1" deep.
