Beautiful 19th-century French religious icon. This antique piece of the Virgin Mary is made of meerschaum. There is a convex glass over the piece surrounded by a brass frame. The glass is intact, and the frame is lovely. There used to be a hanging hook at the top of the piece, but it is long gone. There is a slit on top where it used to be and a replacement should not be difficult to add. The back is in excellent condition, and you can see how the meerschaum has aged over time. Overall, the icon is in excellent condition despite missing the loop hanger. The piece measures 2.25" long. It is 1.75" wide and .50" deep.
