Beautiful antique Italian miniature botanical oil painting by way of France. The painting is in the original Ormolu frame, complete with convex glass, and shows no damage. The florals appear to have some texture as if raised, and the piece is signed. The signature is in the middle, which seems strange to me. There is old crushed velvet on the back held on with tack nails in the side of the frame, so I could not open the piece to examine it more closely. The original hanger is at the top of the back. Overall dimensions are 8.75" x 4" x .5". The oil painting is 7" x 3.5". The Painting is in excellent condition. I can't be sure, but this is circa the late1800s. It is a gorgeous miniature Italian oil painting.
