Beautiful 19th-century French religious icon. This is a piece made of meerschaum. The glass and frame are long gone, but this is an excellent reliquary given the detail in the particular piece. The back is in excellent condition, and you can see how the meerschaum has aged over time. You can clearly see the crown of thorns and the cross as well as the intricate detail of the hair and face. Overall, the icon is in good condition, even without the glass and framework. The piece measures 3.5" long, 3" wide, and 1" deep.
