Unbelievable 1800's antique French relic. This is an oldie and a goodie for sure. A charming piece with "20" individual relics. This is a lot for one piece which makes it so wonderful. This is a diorama icon relic with raised paper. Each individual Saint has their name on a beautiful raised piece of gilded paper with the actual relic beneath it. There are embossed gilded stars throughout with small bits of additional gilt paper for decoration. The inner oval is a faded cranberry velvet and the outer oval is paper. There is an oval brass frame between the two for accent. The cross in the center is raised and if you look at the bottom of the cross you can see a chalise and skull. The frame is wood with gold trim. Right inside the glass around the edge is more embossed gilt paper. The back is papered and raised almost 1.25" to form the diorama. The glass on the front is flat and has NO cracks or chips. This piece is in magnificent condition given its age of probably 200 years. I can see no issues with it and none of the internal pieces have fallen away. The entire piece measures 10" x 8.25 x 1.25". This piece is in FABULOUS condition given its age and is just a beautiful piece of craftsmanship and history.
