In a former incarnation, well over a century ago, this very cool piece served as a watch chain and fob for a dapper Victorian gent. In the 17th century, the birth of the waistcoat made watch chains quite a popular piece of jewelry.
In the Victorian Era, Prince Albert began wearing a watch chain with a t-bar fitted into a buttonhole, which made it much easier to access the pocket watch. No surprise, these were touted as "Albert Chains."
This 11-inch chain is crafted in warm and very sturdy rolled gold. The fanciful amber horn-shaped 2" long seal adorns the piece. The amber stone at the tip is approximately 40" in diameter.
Today, these antique watch chains are valued for their workmanship and intricate detail. We encourage our customers to wear them as necklaces and bracelets, as they can be quite modern and beautiful.
