Stunning Victorian Fob/Seal chain made in rolled gold around 1880. The 12" long boxy chain is a warm rose gold color you can't reproduce in the modern era. Rolled gold, also known as gold-filled -or gold overlay, is a material created by bonding a layer of gold to a base metal like brass or copper. It's a more durable and less expensive alternative to solid gold, offering a similar appearance and lasting longer than gold plating. This piece is in SUPERB condition. This is an excellent piece with an attached white agate pendant or seal stamp. The pendant seal is 1.9" long, and the seal is .40" in diameter.
