Beautiful LOURDES Virgin Mary cradle medallion. This is a classic French religious item to give to a loved one to celebrate the birth of a newborn. It can be placed beside a crib or on a bedside table. Made with bakelite, it has a silver medallion in the center. The center medallion depicts the Virgin Mary and is hallmarked 080. The back is inscribed with LOURDES. It has a ring hook for hanging. The medallion measures 2.35" wide by 3.05" high, including the ring hanger. This piece is in fantastic condition.
"Silver 080" generally refers to jewelry or silver items made of 80% pure silver (800 fineness). Commonly used in Europe and distinct from US Sterling (925).
