Beautiful antique scapulars from France, Italy, and Spain. Unfortunately, we cannot tell which country each piece came from as we purchased an entire collection of over 250 pieces. Each scapular has been hand-sewn.

Scapular A feels like waxed cloth because it is stiffer. It is hand-stitched with painted flowers and a picture of the Madonna in the center. It measures approximately 1.2".

Scapula B is an embossed cloth with a florals painted on it. There is beautiful stitching on this piece and a medal attached to one corner of the triangle. It measures approximately 1.75" x .1".

Scapulars were usually made to order by nuns in convents. Devotional scapulars are objects of popular piety designed to show the wearer's pledge to a confraternity, a saint, or a way of life and remind the wearer of that promise.

Please note that these are not new. These are antiques, so wear is commensurate with age.
