Beautiful antique scapulars from France, Italy, and Spain. Unfortunately, we cannot tell which country each piece came from as we purchased an entire collection of over 250 pieces. Each scapular is unique and has been hand-sewn.
Scapular A is made of soft leather. Each side opens to reveal an inner blue soft fabric. Attached to one side of the scapular is another small religious piece with painted florals.
Scapula B is made of Pale pink cloth with painted florals on each piece. One piece says Marie, and the other says Jesus. These are both stitched in dark pink thread, and there is a small bead closing each side of the scapular. There is also some decorative painting on each side. It measures approximately 1.25" x 1.25".
Scapulars were usually made to order by nuns in convents. Devotional scapulars are objects of popular piety designed to show the wearer's pledge to a confraternity, a saint, or a way of life and remind the wearer of that promise.
Please note that these are not new. These are antiques, so wear is commensurate with age.
