Beautiful antique scapulars from France, Italy, and Spain. Unfortunately, we cannot tell which country each piece came from as we purchased an entire collection of over 250 pieces. Each scapular has been hand-sewn.

Scapular A is made of soft cloth. It is hand-stitched with flowers and has the Madonna and Child stitched in yellow. The picture of the Madonna is in the center. Both sides measure approximately 1" x 1.25".

Scapula B is white with an additional pale pink piece sewn to it. This piece has painted flowers on it and the edges are stitched in gold thread.

Scapulars were usually made to order by nuns in convents. Devotional scapulars are objects of popular piety designed to show the wearer's pledge to a confraternity, a saint, or a way of life and remind the wearer of that promise.

Please note that these are not new. These are antiques, so wear is commensurate with age.
