Beautiful antique scapulars from France, Italy, and Spain. Unfortunately, we cannot tell which country each piece came from as we purchased an entire collection of over 250 pieces. Each scapular has been hand-sewn.
Scapular A is made of soft cloth. It has flowers on it with a picture of the Madonna and child inside. The other side of the scapular is a soft cloth with a medal stitched to it.
Scapula B is pink with blue stitches. There is an additional paper piece with florals. It measures approximately .75" x .1".
Scapulars were usually made to order by nuns in convents. Devotional scapulars are objects of popular piety designed to show the wearer's pledge to a confraternity, a saint, or a way of life and remind the wearer of that promise.
Please note that these are not new. These are antiques, so wear is commensurate with age.
