Beautiful antique scapulars from France, Italy, and Spain. Unfortunately, we cannot tell which country each piece came from as we purchased an entire collection of over 250 pieces. Each scapular has been hand-sewn.
Scapular A is made of soft cloth. It is hand-stitched in pink with a pink ribbon stitched on the top. It measures approximately 1.9" x 1.2".
Scapula B is made of soft cloth. It has a cross and the letters JHS on it. It is stitched in pink with two threads and pink poms on the bottom of each thread. It measures approximately 1" x 1".
Scapulars were usually made to order by nuns in convents. Devotional scapulars are objects of popular piety designed to show the wearer's pledge to a confraternity, a saint, or a way of life and remind the wearer of that promise.
Please note that these are not new. These are antiques, so wear is commensurate with age.
