Beautiful antique scapulars from France, Italy, and Spain. Unfortunately, we cannot tell which country each piece came from as we purchased an entire collection of over 250 pieces. Each scapular has been hand-sewn.
Scapular A is made of soft cloth. It is hand-stitched in yellow and has a religious medal. Both sides of the scapula measure approximately 1" x 1.4".
Scapula B is made of soft cloth. Both pieces of the scapula are stitched together with a religious medal. It measures approximately .50" x .75".
Scapulars were usually made to order by nuns in convents. Devotional scapulars are objects of popular piety designed to show the wearer's pledge to a confraternity, a saint, or a way of life and remind the wearer of that promise.
Please note that these are not new. These are antiques, so wear is commensurate with age.
