Beautiful antique scapulars from France, Italy, and Spain. Unfortunately, we cannot tell which country each piece came from as we purchased an entire collection of over 250 pieces. Each scapular has been hand-sewn.
Scapular A feels like thin leather. It is handpainted with pink stitching and measures approximately .75 " in diameter.
Scapula B is cloth with fine pink stitching. It measures approximately 1.25" x 1.1" and has a picture of the Madonna stitched into it.
Scapula C Feels like a satin/silk ribbon with flowers painted on it. it measures approximately 1" x 1.5".
Scapulars were usually made to order by nuns in convents. Devotional scapulars are objects of popular piety designed to show the wearer's pledge to a confraternity, a saint, or a way of life and remind the wearer of that promise.
Please note that these are not new. These are antiques so there is wear commensurate with age.
