Beautiful antique scapulars from France, Italy, and Spain. Unfortunately, we cannot tell which country each piece came from as we purchased an entire collection of over 250 pieces. Each scapular has been hand-sewn and painted. The single flower, scapular stitched in pink, measures approximately 1.25" x 1". The blue stitched scapular measures approximately 1.65" x 1". These are both in fabulous condition.
Scapulars were usually made to order by nuns in convents. Devotional scapulars are objects of popular piety designed to show the wearer's pledge to a confraternity, a saint, or a way of life and remind the wearer of that promise.
