Original and beautiful antique miniature French oil painting, circa the late 1800s. The painting depicts two women tending a rose garden. I named the painting "Sisters." This is an original oil-on-beveled-board piece. The small brushstrokes on this piece are amazing, and the texture gives the paint depth. This is a fabulous piece that could be framed, but it looks even better on a small easel. I prefer seeing the beveled board. The painting is an original signed work of art measuring 4.5" x 5". It is not a reproduction.
This sticker is an authentic 19th- or early 20th-century (1870- 1910) artisan label from A. Bernard, a prominent historic custom workshop specializing in modern art framing, mounting, and fine restoration. Artisans during this era affixed these custom-printed labels to the backboards of wood panels, stretched canvases, and mirrors to serve as a stamp of high-quality craftsmanship.
-
"Aux & Encadrements": Dedicated to fine custom framing and custom mounting structures.
- "A. Bernard": The master framemaker and workshop operator.
Finding this label on an item signifies that the piece either contains artwork originally framed in Paris or is a period-correct antique piece handled by an established French workshop.
