Beautiful antique French creamy assorted red striped linen/hemp household towels used throughout the 18th and 19th centuries in France. Soft but durable, these towels will last forever with the proper care. These towels need washing as these are right out of a cupboard from an old French farmhouse. We acquired a large lot from one dealer. I purchased these for our stitchers as I think they are perfect for any needlework projects and can be used as towels. Not all the towels have stitching on them. These are all assorted, and they are all beautiful.
To clean hemp, linen, or nettle, wash in your washing machine with soap and warm water. Once removed from the machine, snap out any wrinkles. Hang to dry, and then press with a hot iron. The more these fibers are washed, the softer they become.
