Beautiful antique Italian miniature oil painting by way of France. The painting is in the original giltwood frame, complete with convex glass, showing no damage. The oil painting appears to have some texture as if raised, and the piece is signed. There is old satin on the back held on with tack nails, so I could not open the piece to examine it more closely. The original hanger is at the top of the back, and there appears to be another hanger which was added later. Overall dimensions are 5" x 4.25" x .90". The oil painting is 3.3" x 2.3". The Painting is in excellent condition. I can't be sure, but this is circa the late1800's. It is a gorgeous miniature Italian oil painting.
