Excellent Italian 1748 Papier Dominote book. 'Domino' printed paper is decorated paper, with patterns printed using a woodblock and color applied using a paintbrush or stencil. In France and Italy, these sheets of paper decorated with geometric or floral patterns reached their peak in popularity during the second half of the 18th century. The patterns remain popular today and are considered highly collectible items. This antique book, dating back almost 276 years, is in superb condition. It measures approximately 6.5 inches x 3.75 inches, with about 384 pages in this book. The spine is great and the bindings are intact. It is in fantastic condition given it's age and these are getting harder and harder to find. This is an original from Italy. This is not a reproduction.
