Wonderful 1782 Papier Dominote book. 'Domino' printed paper is decorated paper, the patterns having been printed using a woodblock with color applied using a paintbrush or stencil. In France and Italy, these sheets of paper decorated with geometric or floral patterns peaked in popularity during the second half of the XVIII th century. The patterns remain popular today and are considered extremely collectible items. This antique book is almost 250 years old and is in superb condition. It measures approximately 5” x 8” with about 212 pages in this book. The spine is great and the bindings are intact. It is in fantastic condition given it's age and these are getting harder and harder to find. This is an original from Italy. This is not a reproduction.
