This textile is wonderful! This highly distressed, rustic piece is an antique French mattress cover made from fabric dating to circa 1850's or possibly even earlier. Ticking is a classic French fabric! This is purple damask garden floral motif against an aged beige background. It is a wonderful strong woven linen and cotton textile perfect for pillows, upholstery, and other home decor or craft projects. This textile was once used as a mattress cover. This is such a fantastic piece. A perfect textile for a rustic, primitive interior. This lovely textile measures approximately 53 inches wide by 85 inches long. Along the edges there are small holes with what looks like rust marks. This is probably where the cover was attached to a metal bed at one time. This mattress cover has been left as found. We did not wash it. Just a beautiful piece of French history with so many possiblities.
