Antique French gold frame with triple Fleur-De-Lis wax seal. An amazing piece from the 1800s. The fleur-de-lis has been used in many different contexts, including in art, heraldry, and military insignia. The gold metal frame has a bow on the top. The inner part of the frame is black velvet and on the reverse is the original back and easel stand. In the center of the frame is a triple Fleur-De-Lis seal. The frame is " in diameter and is in fabulous condition given it's age. It is also fortuitous that we have in our collection an original French antique lead triple Fleur-de-lis seal. I purchased the seal in Provence years ago. One exactly like it could have been used many years ago to create this piece as the seal itself. The seal itself is very rare and for those collecting wax seals this red seal would have been a welcome addition to any collection.
