Beautiful and sought-after Georgian seal wheel with six intaglios around the outside and one in the center on one side, for a total of 7 intaglios. I love these little wheels. They are so interesting and fun, a must-have for any wax seal collection, and getting harder to find.
This antique Georgian seal wheel is made from brass or yellow metal; it has 7 seals with mottos. It is approximately 1.6" in diameter. It has some wear from age, and a side stone is missing, but it is still in VERY good condition.
The intaglios around the outside are as follows -
"SILENT" with a bee
"SIR WALTER SCOTT" with a cameo
"LOVE TRUTH" with a hand.
"FORGET ME NOT" with a flower.
The eye.
"FOREVER" with double hearts.
The side seals are -
"Such is life" with a ship. The stone is blue.
The other side is a blank.
